In this book, a boy, Ender, (short for Andrew,) is one special kid. Not only is he important (and infamous, according to his brother Peter) in his family as a Third, but he is also being watched and "monitored." Literally. At the beginning of the book, he has a monitor embedded in the back of his neck, which does just that. At the beginning of Ender's childhood, He is becomming more important in the eyes of the International Fleet. Later, he learnes that he is supposed to save the world from aliens called "buggers." He wins all the "games," which are really tests, but can he win the game that will save the world? This series has four or more books in it so far. It is very adventurous, and I would advise it to anyone who asked.

- Spaz

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

This is one of the most popular books of 2007. It features 17 year old Isabella (known to friends as Bella). She has just moved to a small town in the Pacific Northwest to live with her father. She's not excited to be there, but her mother has recently remarried, and Bella feels that her Mom and her new husband need some time along together to start the marriage out right. Bella is enchanted by the perfectly handsome Edward, and to her surprise he seems attracted to her. As their romance unfolds, Bella learns a secret about Edward that both excites and frightens her.

Read Twilight to learn the secret, and to find out what happens between Bella and Edward.

Review: the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

This is one of the best books I've read this year. The action is fast paced, and the book is peppered with information about a variety of greek mythological figures.

Percy knows that he's different...he never seems to last long as a school, and he's always in trouble. When Percy is in 6th grade he finally comes to understand the source of his differences. To keep Percy safe, he's whisked off to Camp Half-Blood, a place where he still feels somewhat out of place.

I'd recommend this book to anyone who enjoys action and adventure. Once you've read The Lightning Thief, you'll want to read the other two volumes in the series.
